Frida’s, Woollahra
Overview
The gracious ‘Buckingham’ apartment building was constructed circa 1929 along Edgecliff Road, sitting high overlooking Woollahra, Double Bay and Sydney Harbour. With its solid brick facade and curved balconies, the Buckingham is synonymous with ‘Sydney Red Brick’ Art Deco architecture.
Fully restored, designed and styled by Elise Croker, with high quality custom finishes and beautiful attention to detail throughout, Frida’s set a new standard for historic, self-contained apartment accommodation in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

“People remember how a place makes them feel, including the different elements you touch when you’re in a space. I wanted to evoke the five senses.”
A home fit for its vista, Frida’s exudes classic beauty & glamour in this ornate Art Deco apartment. The apartment has been given an injection of colour & personality through artwork & furniture. Customised joinery takes advantage of the apartments impressive ceiling heights elongated by fluted curved ends, encompassing a modern symbiosis of Art Deco design.
All door hardware in the apartment, as well as the light switches, are from TradCo. Old-style light fittings and door levers reflect the art deco period, and the switches themselves have a tactile feel when you turn them on. “People remember how a place makes them feel, including the different elements you touch when you’re in a space. I wanted to evoke the five senses” says Elise.
