Home Tour | Glenlossie Cottage 🏡 Two years ago, p Home Tour | Glenlossie Cottage 🏡 Two years ago, photographer @eliskasharp and her partner fell instantly in love with a special cottage nestled among the orchards and rolling hills of the Huon Valley, Tasmania.

Since initially laying eyes on the property, the couple have carefully restored the 150 year old home back to it's former glory with the use of TradCo hardware.

Originally built for the owner of a local apple orchard, like many homes in the region, it’s modest in scale but full of character and history.

Channelling the building’s mid-century history was key in the renovation, with its original features informing the design. “A lot of the inspiration came from the existing features, as well as all the vintage pieces I sourced for the space,” Lara says. “This included things like vintage doors, furniture and fixtures—they helped write the story for each room.”

For missing fixtures or those in need of replacement, TradCo hardware provided the era-appropriate solution.

“It was fitting to use TradCo hardware because of the beautiful finishes and seamless, vintage designs,” they say. “I wanted any new hardware to blend in and feel like it belonged in the space, and TradCo hardware did exactly that.”

Stained glass windows are among the most beautiful Stained glass windows are among the most beautiful details found in heritage homes, casting colour and character across interiors that modern materials simply can’t replicate.

When restoring them, the aim is always preservation first — carefully cleaning the glass and ensuring the surrounding timber frames are stabilised and protected.

Equally important is the hardware that allows these windows to function as they once did. Period-appropriate fasteners, stays and fittings help secure delicate frames without compromising their authenticity.

Tradco’s restoration hardware is designed with these details in mind, allowing restored glass windows to open, close and ventilate as intended, while also providing an authentic finishing touch.
